How to restore Recent Tab? [ Edited ]

I CAN'T FIGURE OUT HOW TO POST A NEW QUERY, SO I WILL REPLY TO THIS ONE.

what do you do when the Recent Tab is missing suddenly.: how to restore it?

also, why is it so hard to take a contact and come back and add more information in later?  it's so much **bleep** trouble that i end up deleting the contact and starting from scratch.....

 1. Please send an IM ("Instant Message") to the contact in your contact list called Echo / Sound test service, does the "Recent" tab now appear?

2. You can right click on any contact in your contact list and choose rename and that it's so what is complicated about that?
