How can I record a Skype video call with another Skype user?

1. Is it possible to record a Skype video call with another Skype user on my PC? 

2. If so, how can I set it up? 

3. Where will I be able to find the video file or does it ask me to nominate a folder? 

4. And finally what is the format of the video file - avi, mov, etc?

Skype does not have a built in recording feature but you can use any of several 3rd party applications to record video calls.  You can see some that are available here:

I think it's unacceptable that Skype won't allow it's users to turn off automatic updates. Every other program out there allows the user to manually update as needed. I wish the people at Skype could see how frustrating it is to have to wait while it's precious program uses up to 68% of your CPU to complete it's scan in the middle of your work. And no way to turn it off until a better time!

1.  Yes, as g4pilut mentioned, it is possible with the aid of a third party software.  As you are using Windows, I recommend Supertintin, which I personally find very reliable among Skype recorders for Windows OS.  You can check their page in the Skype Apps Directory;

2.  You just need to download the installer and install the recorder,  Then just open the recorder and Skype when you want to record your calls/video calls.

3. By default, Supertintin will create a folder under "My Documents" where your recordings will be saved.  There is also an option to assign a new folder for your recordings.

4.  Supertintin records video calls in .avi format, and audio calls (or the audio part of Skype video calls) in .mp3 format.

What version of Skype program is installed on your computer? In Skype go to Help -> About Skype.
