HOW TO RETRIEVE SKYPE HISTORY....? (please help!!) [ Edited ]

Okay so I opened my old computer where I used to chat. I'm trying to retrieve some chat logs from... say..... maybe 1-2 years ago. I know it's possible. I'm using a Windows xp. In the 'Run' I put %AppData%/Skype/ and a window popped up, it showed files of the users who logged in, and a whole bunch of other stuff. But how do I retrieve the chat logs? Are they inside 'chat sync' ? 

Also, what are .dbb files? 

I tried opened some files named 0a , B2, different ones that are located inside the 'chat sync' but it won't open, I don't know what the program for it to open is.... 

Update: Okay so when I open those files with notepad it comes out all as codes, is there any way to decipher the codes or translate? 

- I'm using Windows XP laptop

- My 'History' option has been saved as 'save forever' (since the beginning to now)

- I just need to find old chat logs from 1-2 years back (maybe even 3 years)

sounds helpful, anything will work, even if it does take time, I'm patient. Um.... the link just took me to a page with telephone bill ads... (unless it's just some code I'm supposed to inster in the IE bar)

If you see a yellow bar, you will need to click it. The page has ads but it also has a form as well which includes a refresh button.

I have an old skype version installed on my mac and can llok at all my chat logs, no matter how old within skype itself! Newer versions seem to have a limited history now! Another Skype botch attempt!

I am using Skype version 2.8.0.851 and can look into all my conversations within seconds, no matter how far back! A chat from 6/7/10 3:18 PM was one I just pulled up! All I gotta do is go to chat and have to click to show earlier messages! I can select the time frame up to a year back, or all, when it is older then that!

Looking to recover chat history I deleted manualy (I mean ... Tools>Options>Privacy>Clear History).

Is there any way to recover deleted history?

Would be a life saver.

Sorry. Deleted are deleted for ever. At least on this computer. You may have them on another computer.

A simple way is to run the old Skype on that old computer and use the Skype software to read the history.

Another way I have just tried now, after reading this post, is to copy the content of %AppData%\Roaming\Skype from the old PC to the new one... this will recover the complete old configuration together with the history. I probably am running the same Skype version on both PCs.
