Can't import gmail contacts

This gives a very bad image to Skype.

I have tried to Import my Gmail contacts by the easy way: "Import Contacts" in the Contacts menu, and no way!!

I have also tried by the advanced submenu but no way either!!

Here's a partial solution: Export your gmail contacts as a .csv and import them into Outlook, then you can import those into Skype, but it only seems to import the ones with Skype accts.

Still not working.  I tried for 2 days before finding this thread.  That was a waste of time.

So i went through page after page of people complaining and not finding a solution..Somebody wrote this code and put the option for gmail. They didnt test it?

I have the same problem, using the latest version of Skype. It's strange though, as I recall, the import feature from Gmail did work some time ago.

Please fix this issue soon, Skype.

Amazing! 2500 views minimum, 4 months later, 28 posts, and Skype still won't interface with Gmail. As poorly supported as Google+ is, I'll try hangout and talk before having to manually import every possible Skype contact into an archaic system.
