Anyone Need Help with Skype Features?

Yes I need help.

Home computer calls laptop computer.  Laptop accepts call and it hangs up on home computer.  Home computer gets message, contact receiving IM only.   Laptop calls home computer.  Home computer accepts and we talk.

Why can the home computer call laptop ?

I don't know when Skyped stopped allowing me to see the conversation history from 1 year ago or most previous, is there anyway I can retrieve the conversations?

I'm new to Skype and really not sure where to ask this. I have Skype on my desktop but bought a new laptop and want to put it one there. Is there a way I can download Skype to it and keep the same name/log-in? Or am I going to have to open a new account? Thanks for any help.

Hey I'm wondering do you know if there's a feature to show all contacts underneath each of their categories? That is, at the moment you can only choose 1 category at a time and all other contacts are just shown below, is there a way to seperate all contacts into their categories and show all categories in the contact list?

Just a follow on, is there then a way to appear online/offline to different categories?

The blue "S" Skype icon in my taskbar has a small yellow number below it that is increasing with time. What does that number mean?
