Annoying new 4 arrow cursor in Skype [ Edited ]

The new version of Skype looks all fine and good, but the new cursor is driving me nuts. I can't see where I am clicking with it.

I first thought - it must be a bug, but I asked around and my friends got it to... This can't possibly be how you ment it to be.

I am considering uninstall this version of skype 5.0 and reinstalling a 4.something version to get rid of the cursor.

I just updated and now I'm downloading the previous version of Skype, first I wasn't able to remove people from group conversation, then the annoying colors (seriously, white over the cool gray icon it had before?) and now I have to stick with that annoying cursor?

What is wrong with you at Skype? Seems everything you've been doing for a while is just drive users crazy

PLEASE tell us how to set a NORMAL cursor! This 4-arrow one is driving me nuts. Come on Skype, I mean wtf were you thinking and all that.. FIX IT!

If it is any comfort - I am running Skype 5.3.0 and the cursor is normal for me.

I've never seen the 4 arrow cursor described in this thread on any of my Windows machines.  To those that are having the problem, are you running Skype on a Mac or a Windows PC?

That 4-arrow cursor is driving me crazy. I hate it. I'm using skype 5.5.0.114 and Windows NT. Isn't there something we can do to change that out. It's just so cumbersome, a real irritant. HELP!!!

Can someone please post a link to an image of what this looks like somewhere, thanks.

In your case and your case only.

1. Please stop any and all running Skype Client programs on your system.

2. Using your Windows Control Panel Add/Remove Programs uninstall Skype, when prompted to save your history, choose yes.

3. Using Windows File Explorer ("What you use to view files with") do:

%appdata%\skype

If you find a file called shared.xml right click on it and choose delete.

4. If you see a folder for the Skype name in question, click on it, if you see a file called Config.xml right click on it and choose delete.

5. Using the Windows file Explorer enter:

NOTE: If This is a 64 bit system, please look in the program files (x86) folder

%programfiles%

Right click on the Skype folder and choose delete.

6. Please install the normal version using the instructions below:

You can install the current normal release by doing this from the top of this page:

Get Skype -> Windows -> Choose the normal release.

These instructions have worked for many and is the quickest thing to try to resolve issues such as this.

Also, what operating system are you on and do you have all Windows updates and updates to any hardware devices by the manufacturers?

Please report your Windows version when you are seeing this issue as well.

So far I've only seen "Windows NT" mentioned once and unfortunately this is a version not supported any more

I have the same problem on Skype 5.5.0.117 running on W7x64. as soon as you move the cursor over Skype it turns into the four-arrow move cursor. I can't capture it because any screen capture either has to be run by the cursor or removes it. the mouse cursor returns to the usual pointer over the menus and if i right-click it also returns to the proper pointer and remains that way until I click to select or discard the pop-up right-click menu. I only installed Skype this morning from a fresh download so I don't have an older version to go back to.
