Multiple Skype Idenities

Is it possible to be signed in as multiple Skype identities on one computer using Skype Manager?

I have an online Skype number for my business but have also taken on a virtual reception role for another business using a separate Skype number. I want to be able to accept calls for both numbers from the one computer, possibly using different ring tones to distinguish between the two. If I add both accounts to Skype manager, will that work?

Yes - if you have Windows.  Don't know about Mac.  Here's the Windows answer:

• Right-mouse click on the desktop, choose New Shortcut;
• Browse to the location of the item;
• Browse to Computer / Local Disk (C / Program Files (x86) / Skype / Phone / Skype, click OK;
• Add /secondary to the end of the line:

"C:\Program Files (x86)\Skype\Phone\Skype.exe" /secondary

• Click Next;
• Change the name to something else, like "Skype 2";
• Click Finish.

This creates a new icon on the desktop, called "Skype 2".

Now...to log in with two Skype IDs simulateously:

• Start Skype as usual, by clicking on the original Skype icon, and sign in with one ID
• Double-click the new "Skype 2" icon created earlier, and sign in with the second ID

That's it!

Hello there,

Is it possible to have personal and professional Skype names that I can use simultaneously (on a Mac)?

I want to interact with my professional contacts under one Skype name and have personal contacts under another...

Wondering whether Skype Manager would do the trick?

I use an iMac for my main computer. I also use PCs and iPODs. I have just set up a Manager Account and bought an online number. I was also trying to set up multiple individual access accounts for different members without having to set up financial accounts.

The outcome:

1. No solution: a chat support was initiated, attended to by several members and no one got back to me with a solution

2. My online number became continuously engaged after I set it up for a diversion and later disabled it

Can anyone share any solutions?

The best way to implement this is use PrettyMay Call Center for Skype, with it, you can set up different greeting/agents based on different Skype online numbers for different business.

Hi, I was looking for a solution like this, I'm using windows xp and tried this solution but when using the secondary icon I get ths following error:
DISK I/O ERROR. RIGHT CLICK THE SKYPE ICON IN THE WINDOWS TASKBAR AT THE BOTTOM RIGHT OF YOUR SCREEN AND CHOOSE QUIT. THEN RESTART SKYPE. IF YOU KEEP SEEING THIS ERROR, PLEASE CONTACT CUSTOMER SUPPORT

Thanks in advance if somebody can suggest a solution or another way of using more than one skype account on the same pc at the same time (I need to use my personal account and my business account)

You just need to copy and use the direct acces into another HD of your pc. I now have one skype running on c: and the other one is running on d:

I have tried several times using your methodology to add skype 2 to desktop so I can have two identities open at the same time. but every time I get to the address and add /secondary and press next it comes up with an error message saying the file cannot be found. any ideas?
