Can't Connect to Skype. [ Edited ]

I type in my username and password (Both correct) and Skype buffers for a while then says it cannot connect.

I've tried restarting my computer and I've uninstalled then installed skype again. Anyone have any advice???

I can also sign on with any one else's computer..its just mine that has a problem. It's an HP windows.

I have the same problem. Has anyone got back to you with the answer yet? Funny thing is that only 2 days ago i could use Skype, but now i have nothing. I know that its the right user name and password, but i still can not do a thing with it.

I am running Avast. I dont think its anything to do with that as i was able to sign in and talk on skype the day before, but the next day there was nothing. Can you help me?

What exactly happens when you sign in Skype?

I can not sign into skype on my laptop. I put in the right name and password, then it buffers for a while and says that Skype can not connect. I am using windows 7. Can you help me?

Try to disable Avast or any Firewall application installed on your computer. If this doesn’t help, then try to reset all Skype settings.

Quit Skype or use Windows Task Manager to kill any Skype.exe process. Go to Windows Start and in the Search/Run box type %appdata%, press Enter or click the OK button. The Windows File Explorer will pop up. There locate a folder named “Skype”. Rename this folder to something different, e.g. Skype_old. Restart Skype.

N.B. If needed, you will still be able to re-establish your call and chat history. All data is still saved in the Skype_old folder.
