I plan travel to a number of countries and want a skype number, would I need to apply and pay for a new skype number in every country I go to or not? Thanks for any advice out there!

No, you can just purchase an Online Number which is local for people that will call you.

I JUST BOUGHT AN ONLINE NUMBER (20MIN AGO) AND I HAVE RECEIVED 10 CALLS AT LEAST FROM PEOPLE "RETURNING" MY CALLS - INCLUDING ONE WHO SAID SOMEONE IS USING MY NUMBER TO SCAM PEOPLE TELLING THEM THEY NEED TO ACCESS THEIR COMPUTER!!

hello,

i have skype account and am considering getting the subscription service to make calls to non-skype phones as well as the online number feature to receive calls from non-skype phones.

my question is this: if i am using an android tablet w/ the skype app and have a data plan, will the skype ring whenever others call my online number, or does the tablet need to be turned on for it to work?

I just renewed my skype number and it doesn't even work. I mean, I can make calls to landlines, and that's fine, but when I call my wife, a different number appears in her caller ID. I just tried to call my skype number from a landline, and got a busy signal, not my outgoing recorded mesage. No wonder I am not getting any calls. I suspect Skype messed something up when I renewed my number and now it's really different from what is on my profile and account page. I hope they read this and fix it.

I have purchased my skype number it was showing correctly when I called someone. And since I have paid my yearly subscription my number is showing up incorrectly. How can t his be fixed!!!!

How cab you change askype number to a new sjype name.I want to heep my skype number but I dont want to use my sjtpe name.

Have you tried this.

First check that your privacy settings are set to ''Allow calls from anyone''.
Then change them to "Allow SkypeIn calls from Only people from my Contacts List".
Save and wait for 5 minutes.
Log out from your Skype account and log back in. 
Change settings back to "Allow calls from Anyone". 
Save and wait for 5 minutes.
Log out from your Skype account and log back in.
