I recently purchased an online number.

I have skype on my iPhone. When I jsut use my phone, my signal is strong. But when I answer calls from skype (using online number) my signal drops and call also drops.

What can I do to avoid the disconnection?

I have a similar problem. My number is +61 8 9468 0017 (Australia).

When I try to call this number, the message I get is that the number is disconnected.

I had a different online number before and that worked just fine.

Unfortunately, there is no way for me to speak to a person at Skype as far as I can tell. Maybe someone here works at Skype and can resolve this issue.

Could also be latency issues.

I'd also clear the ram or shut down any running apps in the background just to be sure

No, it's none of that. I use skype regulalrly to call out and it all works fine.

I'm an IT professional, so all the obvious stuff has been looked at.

This really relates to how the local telco forwards the call I think.

How do I contact someone at Skype to test it, is what baffles me.

I am having the exact same problem!! MASSIVE BUMMER, especially for a businessman! I just set up and had a couple people inform me that they get "number disconnected"!!! Very, very bad... Is there any hope for this issue? I too believe it is the local telcos incompatibility to VOIP numbers. Any truth to this? Cheers

The worst part is the fact that Skype support is non-existent.

Man oh man, if only I had known. I'd have found a better VOIP supplier.
