Re: Online Number Canada

there will never be phone numbers until the crtc rules change. You need to write to your MP and tell them you want competition within Canada, end the monopoly held by Bell Canada and Rogers

Re: Online Number Canada

You don't want to deal with Bell, or Rogers, you think Skype does? there are CRTC rules, they need to be changed, write to your MP and tell them, you want phone numbers for SKype, but don't let them tell you they can have them, because it would cost money buying them and entering into an agreement with Bell and Rogers to get them, they hold monopolies, protected by the CRTC, your government can do something. Stephen Harper is supposed to be a champion of the free market, so why are protections for Bell and Rogers still available.

Re: Online Number Canada

no the problem has not been solved. It not just one problem. There are CRTC rules. 911 access must be available, that's a problem when you are anywhere other than canada, and when you are in Canada difficult to route the 911 call to the right call centre. there is still a monopoloy held by Bell and Rogers. Under the current rules, Skype would need to enter into a contract with Bell or Rogers, that would cost Skype, and increase rates. It's probably out of the question, we don't want to deal with Bell, you think Skype does? I think we should be taking this issue to Ottawa through our MP's, until they truly open telephone to competition there will be no phone numbers in canada, because the CRTC protects that market for Bell Canada and Rogers. I'm shocked all you people have been sitting here talking for all these years, when you should be doing something about it, write to your MP's. You know the old saying... wish in one hand, **bleep** in the other, see which hand fills up first. Keep wishing if you like, but I'd get onto MP's, tell them you are sick that there is no competition.

Re: Online Number Canada refund please...

I have totally given up on ever using the $70 number I bought from Skype; I wouldn't expect to get a refund, so I want my seventy bucks transferred to my regular skype program; HOW DO I GET SKYPE TO DO THAT FOR ME?  I have NO IDEA how to talk to anyone at skype.  My money has gone into a skype vortex- it feels like BAIT AND SWITCH  to me.   Please skype - contact me; you have my money for NOTHING I CAN USE.  Can anyone help me? Please? I can be contacted on this page...and will call any number to discuss.

Re: Online Number Canada

I gave up waiting for Skype out Canadian #'s years ago.  Subscribed to a CDN Voip provider called Vbuzzer. They have iOS & Android apps as well. Works pretty good.

Re: Online Number Canada

Does anyone who works for SKYPE read these, or is this list issue already fixed so CUSTOMERS CAN LIVE IN CANADA AND GIVE THEM REAL MONEY for an online number thats local?

Thank you.

Re: Online Number Canada

It is interesting how the latest info is written so authoritavely - did any of you "johnny-come-latelies" bother to read back and with particular reference to the letter from CRTC shared by an earlier writer?

Suggest this would have been a good move before suggesting that others are wasting their time on this blog. I agree that it has been a huge waste of time in the sense that nothing has changed... particularly the silence of SKYPE in this entire matter.

The latest writer [invalid URL] would be much more efficient if he were to only write the same response once instead of FOUR times. Readers are not blind.
