JUST BOUGHT A SKYPE NUMBER THAT SOMEONE IS USING TO SCAM THE PUBLIC!!

I JUST BOUGHT AN ONLINE NUMBER (20MIN AGO) AND I HAVE RECEIVED 10 CALLS AT LEAST FROM PEOPLE "RETURNING" MY CALLS - INCLUDING ONE WHO SAID SOMEONE IS USING MY NUMBER TO SCAM PEOPLE TELLING THEM THEY NEED TO ACCESS THEIR COMPUTER!!

PLEASE DO RESOLVE THIS ISSUE AND REIMBURSE THE CALLS I HAVE ALREADY BEEN CHARGED FOR - AND IF YOU CANNOT RESOLVE THE PROBLEM, PLEASE CANCEL THE NUMBER, REFUND THE MONEY AND NOTIFY ME. YOUR PROMPT ATTENTION WOULD BE APPRECIATED.

Re: JUST BOUGHT A SKYPE NUMBER THAT SOMEONE IS USING TO SCAM THE PUBLIC!!

Hi, thanks Elaine.  I managed to get hold of them last night and they were fabulous about organising the cancellation of this number and a refund.

HOWEVER - Still doesn't explain to me how this all happened, or was possible as the entire point of an online number is that 'others' can phone me and I can access their calls anywhere (very important to me) - but I can't phone out on that number.

I now have to dump the business cards and pamphlets I've had printed and I have to contact all the business directories I've recently posted on...  Can't contact those I've already handed out cards to, will have to hope they will try contacting me on my mobile.  Also have to update my websites... so lots of time lost/wasted.

This is a setback to my business plan and (I'm NOT blaming Skype here folks) one can but wonder what this world is coming to.

Anyways, again - thanks to the helpful support people at Skype.  Once I found my way to you, you sorted the situation out to the best of your ability and I'm grateful.

We've been using 'free Skype' to contact our family worldwide for years now.  Without Skype I'd be a mental case.
