INBOUND CALLS FAILING; US; NC; ISSUE STARTED APPROX 12PM EST

It seems like this is a much wider problem than Skype is admitting. In their usual management speak they are using the term "some users" in describing the size of the problem. There was an outage here in the UK too. Even Skype's Heartbeat blog admits three such major failures in the space of a month!

The problem is that individual users are unaware of the outage until their customers tell them, that is of course unless they either try to call their own on-line number or browse the Heartbeat blog ever couple of hours.

Once again Skype demonstrates it is not suitable for business as a primary telecoms provider.

As soon as there is any such outage, there must be a prominent flag showing on the Skype client. It may be embarassing to the Skype management, but if you got the system properly stable it would be a rare occurence.

This is the third business day in a row that this problem is persisting. If we can't receive calls and don't get an official report on the issue, how are we supposed to keep using this service?

Please report the reason for outage (RFO) and give us some real expectations and timelines!

My calls are coming in a couple of minutes after they were attempted. Obviously, by that point there's no one on the other end.

Experiencing the same issue. You attempt the call, but no ring tone and no ring through to Skype. Hang up, then about a minute later the Skype client rings. (And, of course, nobody is there to pick-up.)

UPDATE:  Service appears to be working again as of 2:00pm MST.

So now the calls are coming in but DTMF is broken. So, users can't dial the menu options we have setup. Ugh, this is bad.

I have used a SKYPE Online number for about 2 years.  When I lived in Silicon Valley, it worked fine.  I have now moved to CHILE.  Only my mother calling from an ancient ATT landline is able to call through to my 650 based Online Number.  All others fail, with a busy signal and or, just nothingness.   Skype should either refund us our $ies, or fix the issue, or advertise the service as working only regionally, or per some qualified statement. Mobile phones calling from the US to a US Skype Online Number do not get successfully put through if the Online Number is outside of the U.S.  This is well proven, to anybody at SKYPE reading this wanting to fix the system.
