Same Problem, when I call people it either shows up as unknown or some random number. What is going on? I've had this number for a few years now. It's been doing this for a month or so.

Okay, here's the Deal. I was super angry b/c I couldn't figure this out, but it turns out it's not broken, you just need to navigate something you probably haven't messed w/ in awhile.
1) Sign in to your account.
2) Go to the Call Phones Tab.
3) Click on "Caller ID Settings"
4) Ignore what it says about a "Mobile Phone" and look to the right of the Input Field/Box. There will be an option that says something like "select already stored number". Click that, or just enter the Phone # that you have.
Voila.
p.s. ATTN SKYPE: this is not very intuitive or user-friendly -- Hence the complaints. Please address this so less people get frustrated in already frustrating times. Thank You.

We do all of that. Is there any other way to change/select caller id?
The problem is it gets reset after a short period of time.
Btw, in my version of skype (latest for windows), Call Phones opens in a new window and there is no Caller ID Settings, only View Account.

Adding my voice..
Same issue. My paid for Skype number was good enough for years as the CallerID. With the new version it got wiped to "Unknown" or a string of useless numbers. Trying to set it forces me to enter a mobile number. Of course, if I wanted my mobile number out there, I would have called from that device. Surely this cannot be that difficult to fix? I am after all paying a substantial amount of money for my Skype ...

I did some testing and found that if I set the caller ID on my desktop skype it works fine on calls from desktop skype even after I restart skype. If I call from my mobile android skype then the caller id is broken. Now if I set the caller id through my android skype and place a call then caller id works again. BUT, when I restart my android skype, the caller id is broken again even placed from the desktop skype.
So, restarting skype on my phone breaks caller id.

Hey guys, after several weeks I think they finally fixed it. I set the CallerID from my android phone and it hasn't been reset for several days already. What about you?

I am definitely up for a class action. When people try to return your "unidentified" call, they get a message (from skype) saying they should report the call to law enforcement!
