service notice

I just had 2 calls, repeating the same information: namely, telling me my skype # ( I didn't take note of it so don't even know if it's right), & that my computer security was no longer active, to go 'immediately' to a particular website that I didn't recognise, to reactivate it. I ended the call both times, had a quick google check on what I thought the website was, & no luck. My question is: is this a valid way Skype tells us this kind of thing, & can i trust what it said? I s it likely to be a scam/spam call?

Thanks
