Hi,
If someone has taken over your account and you would like us to investigate further and close the accounts, submit a support request to Skype Customer Service. Choose the help topic Security & Privacy and the related problem Identity theft / Account takeover.
Also, check your computer’s security and remove any malicious software or viruses. Learn more about protecting your computer.

My account was hacked today. £70+ spent and Skype refuse to reimburse me for their lack of security. I've been with them since they started, been a fan, recommended them to everyone and they treat me like dirt. The only action I can take is to abandon it and use another system.

Someone charged a large amount of money to my credit card as if I bought Skype credit. They access my account from another Skype account. How is ii possible that anyone could buy such a large amount of credit? Thay initially tried to charge my PayPal account.
Skype live chat only said I have to contact my bank. Skype does not take any responsability.
Skype users beware. Don't use auto-recharge. Don't use credit card. Don't use PayPal. Check you payment limits in PayPal. It could be that you allow to pay several thousands of US dollars. Look for another alternatives to Skype.

A few weeks ago I noticed that several contacts that had been in my address book were gone. Today, I realised that whilst my account name remained the same, all my personal details had been substituted with someone elses. My profile photo was gone too. I have changed my password, but would like to know whether this is enough?

Yes. It's the most you can do under the circumstances.
