I must agree with the above posters that Skype really needs to get their crap together...and quick.

I have been getting these calls for the past year mostly. For the first 6 or so months it was mostly only maybe once a month or less and it seemed to be different people with different messages after NOTIFICATION URGENT and I knew it wasn't real because Skype does not contact its customers like that...but then it started turning into once a week, and now literally just about everyday or every other day multiple times a day and I have tried blocking the same thing over and over and over. Just this one I got about a half hour ago I decided to Report/Abuse which I don't know why I though of before but at the previous posts suggest, Skype doesn't seem to be trying to fix this or block people and changing call recieving privacy settings has not seemed to work for others so that can't be it either.

It's really annoying because there were times when I was in college sleeping and would leave my computer on and get woken up and think it was one of my contacts calling and I would get pissed seeing I was woken up by SPAM.

Honestly if it weren't for the ugly interface and annoying chatbox seperate from video in ooVoo I would just make the switch over to that instead and use that mostly instead of Skype. I used to be a hugge fan of Skype as I am a very huge user and have had sooo many hours of logged ussage (pretty much everyday) but ooVoo offers FREE group chat for up to 6 people while Skype charges and ooVoo also has more video settings. I just got the newest Skype update 2 days ago and I hate it. You can't choose to both have a video popped out and the seperate chat one open anymore. And I miss the easy close accessible volume options they used to have and also I don't know WHY they would take away the see whole screen in the full screen of a video feed...now I have to scroll up and down to see everything. And just...so many other issues.

A bit off track I know but I've been getting more and more unhappy with Skype. I'd like to continue to be the strong user I have been for the past 3+ years so if they could actually read these forums and try to keep their customers happy it'd be great. Until then, I won't even consider paying a dime to support them anymore.

Yep - me too!  It happened yesterday once and today once... make it go away!!!

As we have stated many times on this and other threads this notice is a SCAM (not harmless spam) and contains a dangerous virus.

Do NOT follow any links and DELETE it from your computer or device.

I've been getting these notices for months, and am surprised that my touching my computer didn't destroy the culprits (lol, electronics die around me)! Unfortunately, that may have been causing me to be unable to contact Skype in any way, no credits, phone calls updates - anything! Couldn't get in touch to block calls.

I realize this is a scam and a virus and I ignore it everytime it calls and I report it and block it everytime it calls as well. What I REALLY need to know is how to stop it from calling me everyday.

You mentioned deleting it from my computer, since i've never answered any of the calls I can't imagine they've put anything in my files. Could you please specify what you mean by that comment?

Unfortunately as fast as we block them they move to another #.

Yes - never answer a call like that. If you (or anyone) has please remove any files downloaded as a result of the call from your computer.

I'm on an iphone (can't right click a conversation and block), but I used the online link to change my privacy settings - thank you. How about where to report the spam? (on an iphone)?

Thanks! It's amazing that we get charged to answer these calls (connection fees). Big problem for the Skype community.

I too am getting lots of messages Re: *** NOTIFICATION® URGENT ACTION REQUIRED ***. I do delete them everytime, and have not gone onto their websites that they say one needs to do to fix the problem. I'm glad to hear it is a hoax, but as you say, I wish Skype would fix the problem. This seems to be the only way to get help and it's just other people having the same issue, not solving the issue. 

there is a new 'Security' message coming through now, which is just as irritating. If anyone can help solve this, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks
