How to Handle Suspicious Calls, Messages and Contact Requests (Scam/Spam)

This doesn't work. You cannot save yoru preferences to contact list calls only, it changes them every time this ONLINE NOTICE (tm) or URGENT NOTICE, or 10 other freaking names calls. Every time. It's becoming interruptive and may have to switch from using skype all together due to this.

This needs to be fixed, not given a canned answer that isn't working

then kindly specify what you consider as canned answers.  the suggestions that I (Primemover) and other advisors/superusers solve the problem in most cases.  But due to some factors, they may not apply or work in cases of some users.

I recieved a suspicious Skype call today.

Here are the caller's details:

Display name: ONLINE NOTICE™

Username: ps.info.

Location: United States

Date of call: 9th February 2012

Time of call: 10:36 PM (Australian Eastern Standard Time)

It was a robotic male American voice telling me to go to www. snfix .com for "computer protection" and a "full system diagnostics repair".

I did not go to the website. I blocked the contact, sent an email to Skype and changed the settings to "allow calls from people in my Contacts list only".

If you select my contact list only will your Skype phone number still take in coming calls from persons not in your contact list?

I have a problem with my skype, i think it is a virus that gathers all my skype list and sends them a link to a facebook page.

I can't delete skype from the control panel and i can;t use any program while skype is open because it;s opening and closing my programs as it wants. help!

I don't get it.... Even though I have done all of the above like others here, I still get these blasted calls. Of course I block them and report them but somehow; and from what I see here and on searching this on Google this is a LONGTIME PROBLEM.
I am a premium customer and have been using Skype for a few years.

COME ON SKYPE GET IT TOGETHER, FIX THIS PROBLEM.
I would hate to go back to windows messenger of Google Chat.
