Chat reappearing despite deleting + no history settings

Hi there,

I have the following problem: whenever I log somewhere again, all my chat history reappears despite the fact that I delete my history and check the option "do not keep history" in the settings. I have this problem (with those settings) on a pc, mac and iphone. 

I think this is a major security issue: not only the chat log gets passed around meaning it is shared accross however many computers you log onto, it's also stored online meaning, but worst of all, you give us an option not to keep history, but it's kept! 

There are quite a few unanswered threads on the forum about this. What's happening?? Are there any solutions? This has been going on for quite a while!

I´m using a windows 7 (64bit) dell notebook and a motorola android phone and have the exact same problem: although I´ve set to "no history" in the privacy settings of the sype fo W7. I have not been able to found a similar privacy settings on my skype of android application. Any clues?

I think the situation you described has more to do with synchronization than keeping histories.  Synchronizations usually happen if a user is using their account in multiple machines, or different computers.  The lines below are from the Skype's terms of use (http://www.skype.com/intl/en-us/legal/privacy/general/#12)

"Retention of Instant Messages (Skype internet communications software application only)

Your instant messaging (IM) communications content may be stored by Skype (a) to convey and synchronise your messages and (b) to enable you to retrieve your IM history where possible. IM history messages will be stored for a maximum of 30 days unless otherwise permitted or required by law. Skype will at all times take appropriate technical and security measures to protect your information. By using this product, you consent to the storage of your IM communications as described above."

Its all well and good to quote the official policy but as a user when I delete my history I want it deleted.

This is a signifiacant concern for me and something that could make me stop using Skype.

When I delete emails on GMail or Outlook.com on one device they do not magically reappaer on other devices.
