Why do I still get this message even though I have auto-recharge and automatica renewal of subscriptions? Is there some action I should take?

It is not possible to have a recurring payment agreement for Online Numbers. So in this case, as your number expires in 3 days, you would need to extend it manually.
You can do it as shown here: https://support.skype.com/en/faq/FA10365
I hope it helps!

If monthly automatic renewal of subscriptions is not possible, why am I getting it for years now with my Unlimited World package (3 numbers), but still get those annoying expiration emails once in while?

I'm getting the same thing. It's been happening once a year for a couple of years now, but I was always able to move past it with some effort. However, last month it had me convinced that I would get a cheaper option than I was already paying for. So naturally I thought, yes ok I will take this offer up. It took quite a bit of chatting with the online help to sort out that I was actualy paying extra for something I already had under my current plan. I was not happy and said they needed stop sending these emails to the wrong people. It's confusing and distressing. Now again this month I have another one. What does it take to get the message through that this is wrong and needs to be fixed. Meanwhile we have to live with the threat of losing our numbers. For goodness sakes fix this before I take my business to someone who acts instead of only talking, I'm tired of the effort and time it takes to sort these issues out.
Very unhappy,
Juls

Joanna,
I'm sorry but you are wrong. Please sort this issue out ASAP. I'm open to answer any questions you may have. I have already gone through this process and had my money refunded last month because the email should never have been sent to me. I have been having this automatic recharge happen for the last 4 years plus. So please check the details properly before using an automatic response.
Thank you,
Juls
