SMS caller ID not working

Hi, I just enabled the caller ID service via the Skype hoempage. It works great when making regular skype phone calls, but when sending SMS, my username is still displayed instead of my Mobile number. I am using my iPhone for Skype.

Use SMS via Skype all the time, never any problems in SMS displaying my number to recipient. As of two days ago, when I send an SMS, my user id is dispalyed so the recipient cannot reply. Why? Nothing has changed on my PC. Also when  make an international call, my Skype number is no longer displayed, just "International Call". Why? This is not the service I am paying for...

I am having the same problem..  when I call people from skype, they see my verified mobile number.  When I SMS from skype they see a 5 digit number.

Even after going in thru Tools->Options->IM&SMS->SMS Settings I have my mobile number selected and it SAYS recipients can send SMS replies but that is not true, they end up sending to the 5 digit number.

I also set up caller ID, and people I send texts to only see the 5-digit number.  Another problem is that they try to reply, which obviously doesn't work.  Is there a way to add a tag line to all texts that reads to respond only to my mobile number?

My caller ID is setup but my SMS arrives with some strange number that is not mine at all!

There are a lot of frustrated people with this issue out there... I have finally found the answer hidden away in Skype help:

"Text messages sent to mobile phones in China, Taiwan, Canada and the USA will not display your Skype Name or a validated mobile number. Instead, these text messages will have generic, pre-defined numbers as the sender ID. For texts sent to mobile phones in Russia, the Skype Name is not displayed. A generic number is displayed unless you have set your mobile number as the sender ID" (see help page here)

Sorry people - it's frustrating and I have no idea why it would be this way, but that's the way it is
