buy credit takes me to the chinese site

So when I try to buy credit or get a substribtion, it takes me tom.skype.com, which is a chinese site. I don't have a way to pay in Chinese currency.

This is really annoying, please do something about it. I've tried on both Windoes and Mac, on the desktop client or the website, they all take me to chinese site.

That's because your account was presumably first registered in China.

You are currently located in the United States.

To avoid tom.com (Skype's Chinese partner) you will need to create a new account.

Re: buy credit takes me to the chinese site

That's not an option for me. I have a lot of friends, family and co-workers on my current skype. I don't want to open a new account at all.

My currently country setting is in the USA.

This wasn't happening before, so you guys changed something. My default website to pay for credit should be linked to my "current" country, not where I registered. People move sometimes, you know

Unfortunately, if you first registered in China, the only way around the problem is to create a new account.

We have a legally binding agreement with tom.com that accounts first registered in China (irrespective of present location) are their sole responsibility.

Re: buy credit takes me to the chinese site

Why did you guys change this????? I was going along just fine until you added this TOM thing. Now i can't buy credit unless i ditch my account which I've had for a solid 4 years. I've been a loyal customer up to this point. I'm seriously considering going with another option. Why does Microsoft destroy everything it touches?

Re: buy credit takes me to the chinese site

This is ridiculous, since I always could buy Skype credits, and now, all the sudden, I get stuck with this chinese website that doesn't accept my credit card (and even show me only option to use my credit card in a chinese-written page?!).. what is happening ????!!!!

Re: buy credit takes me to the chinese site

Same here. Never register in China. What is the tom.skype.com? Why do you link skype with this XXXX website???? I hate to be sold to 3rd party.

Re: buy credit takes me to the Chinese site

The same thing happened to me. I never created my account in China. This is extremely offensive to the customers and by all means the moderators answer is not true. I believe that Microsoft has to solve this problem or else many customers will opt other options.
