Hello skype,
I do not want an auto recharge setting. I find it outraging that you impossed that upon me without my concent.
I want you to cancel the auto recharge immediately and let me know how you proceed as its impossible to access that function by myself.
It think this is going way too far and not legal to you have access to my account details from the past order. Pls inform me about the reason why you are so cheeky with your customers.

Leasaby,
I am in total agreement with you on this issue. I to am outraged at this tactic. I signed up for a one month unlimited on Feb 24th and couldn't understand why I was still able to make calls as of April 23rd. My computer went down and I was unable to find anything out until yesterday, but tonight I got a huge shock when I received notification that I had "apparently" sent another PayPal payment today. This was done without my knowledge or authorization. Upon checking into the matter, I discovered that I had also been charged on March 23rd, but at that time I never received any notification. At the time of my initial subscription, there was no mention of this auto-recharge anywhere and I don't believe that it should be allowed without prior knowledge and consent. The way it is set up, we have to request that it NOT be auto-recharged and since we have no prior knowledge of the fact that they are going to do it, we are forced to pay and then request a refund if we did not want to subscription. In my opinion, this is totally backward to the way it should be and borders on being fraudulent or even theft. To top it off, there is actually no real way to place a complaint with customer service or the billing dept, aside from this method (which I feel is totally inadequate), or a live chat. Skype is a communications company. A TELEPHONE (via computer) service. So I would love to know why the #%** is there no TELEPHONE number where we can speak in person to a service rep?!?!?! Ridiculous!! I do actually require the subscription for 2 more months, so I do not necessarily want to opt out of the auto-recharge right now, but I definitely believe that we should be warned prior to the initial subscription and/or given a choice BEFORE, not after subscribing!!! This has me really "hot under the collar" to put it politely!!! Anyone else feel the same way?

I register for the free unlimited world blah blah. but well, after that, they kept continously charging my account without my authorization. Basiclly, they stole my money. Here is what I got from the customer services. so f**king gay.

23:34:02 Islam H says,
This is policy
23:34:22 Islam H says,
As you didn't notify us from the beginning
23:34:32 Islam H says,
When you requested the refund for this order, we had not received the payment yet. Therefore, instead of refunding you, we have cancelled the order.
23:34:52 Islam H says,
I can assure you that your credit card account will not be charged for this transaction
23:35:01 Islam H says,
However, you may see a booking or reservation on your credit card statement. This is because we made an authorization request to your credit card, and checked that the funds were available. Please be aware that no funds were taken from your account and we have reversed the authorization. It may take up to two weeks to remove these transactions, but typically the time period is shorter, depending on your credit card issuer. For more information, please contact your financial institution.
23:35:31 Islam H says,
Is there anything else I can help you with today?

This auto recharge nonsense that skype does will come back to haunt them in the end. I would not have been so up set if they would have addressed the problem with me in a courteous and professional manner. The Chat representative on line abruptly ended my session with" END SESSION". a Huge stream of Contract agreement Data comes on the screen............End of conversation....End of story.....THANKS A LOT Skype REPRESENTATIVE!

Dear All,
I have replied to (feels like I am jumping into!) these threads ... with respect for each account-holder's situation and with best intentions of trying to piece the puzzle together of how these types of payments occur. Let us begin with automatic re-charge and how subscriptions work:
https://support.skype.com/en-us/faq/FA10414/How-do
"A one-month subscription is valid for one calendar month, which means if you purchase a monthly subscription on the 15th of the month it will be valid until the 15th of the next month.
"By default subscriptions are renewed automatically, but you can cancel your recurring payments at any time.
"The recurring payment is taken three days in advance of your subscription expiring, to ensure prompt delivery of your subscription. You don’t lose these three days though: your subscription is still valid for the full period that you sign up for (1, 3 or 12 months).
"If you have a fixed-minute subscription (60, 120, 400 or 800 minutes), your minutes are reset each month. If you have unused minutes, they are not carried over to next month."
I appreciate your surprise at seeing a recurring charge; however, I appreciate auto re-charge as I do not have to remember to renew a subscription I intend to continue. Skype sends an e-mail confirmation to the account-holder's registered e-mail address stored in their account, and the charge also appears in your account Purchase history.
In order to apply for a refund (here is the link: request a refund ), the subscription you no longer need must be cancelled on your account first.
So you are not surprised to learn there is a refund request deadline, here is Skype's policy: http://www.skype.com/intl/en/legal/terms/tou/#refu
"10.1.(iv) Charged in Error. If you believe that Skype has charged you in error, you must contact Skype within 90 days of such charge. No refunds will be given for any charges, which are more than 90 days old."
That said, once the refund request is reviewed by Skype Customer Support, it could be realized that the charges dating beyond 90 days may also be in error, and they may be refunded as well.
Last and certainly not least, please understand that this is a volunteer, Skype user-to-Skype user Community. We who are members of and participating in the community are not authorized to process refunds; for everyone's safety and security, refunds can not be processed based upon messages posted here on the message boards.
Best regards,
