Cell phones give me a headaches so of course I don't use them. Admittedly I'm an old guy, and I've never even used SMS and don't want to. Email is fine, in fact the concept of hunt and peck on little DTMF keypad and reading a message serially on an impossible to read tiny LCD doesn't appeal to me at all.
Of course I want to be able to provide my caller ID when I use skype. How? When I go to the menu it to set the caller ID it insists on sending an SMS to the number that doesn't support it.
Then you are not able to use that number as Caller ID from Skype.
All mobile numbers (except those in Japan and Mexico) have to go through the process of sending out 2 SMS messages and receiving them on that mobile phone to be used with Skype this way. Landline numbers, even those numbers in some countries that allow for receiving SMS messages, are not usable in this way.
