Payment rate

I have been a Skype user for 7 or 8 years (it seems), long before there was the ability to pay $2.99/month for calls to any kind of phone in North America, even before conference calls were available.   I was automatically raised to $30+ in January.

I need to talk with someone in "accounting", because I had been paying $24.99 a year (in advance) for several years, and just got off the phone with someone to whom I introduced Skype.  He has been "grandfathered" into the $2.99/month.  While I recognize that his $2.99/month is $36 per year, he did not have an increase.   Who can I talk to?   A choice I have is the competitor (Google), which provides that capability (free calls to any phone in North America) until at least December.

Re: Payment rate

Hey Stu,

Please contact Skype Customer Services with a bit more detailed description of what rates have been increased for you.

Form what I can see, you have changed the currency on your Skype account from EUR to USD, and now your subscription which was 19.850 EUR back in January 2010 was charged in USD in January 2011 and it costs 30.050 USD, which makes approx 2.50 USD a month for unlimited calls to US and Canadian phone numbers.

But as I said, please contact Skype Customer Services with further details and for further help.

If you found a post useful, please give Kudos. If it helped to fix your issue, mark it as a solution to help others.
