I had a subscription (unlimited US & Canada) on a monthly basis. I couldn't see how to change that to a 12-month subscription, so I cancelled it.
Then, when I tried setting up a new, 12-month subscription with Skype credit, it took me to PayPal - where it was insisted that I add a credit card to my account before the payment could go forward (but I've never had to do that before - I always just had Skype use PayPal to automatically debit my bank account. I don't have a credit card and don't WANT a credit card).
Now my previous subscription's about to expire, and I can't even reactivate it without the same problem.
I had wanted to change to a 12-month subscription, with credit AND an online number (with voicemail), but now I can't have anything...

Same problem here. I used to "recharge" skype with PayPal, but now no way without credit card info inquiries. Sounds like MS is in the phishing business now! No tel # to be found. How well, they bought a great company, then now try to filling up their database with info that they are unlawfully asking for.
Will have to switch to another VOIP, what a drag! The $$ they paid for skype wasn't about making business, but just to get the database, and now they are squeezing the lemons!

MS is showing its usual ineptitude and PayPal isn't much better
