Have Subscription, but Skype won't let me make a call

I am very frustrated  - especially that I cannot get through to a real person regarding this issue...

First, I had credit  and recently got an email that stated I needed to use it or I would lose it.  I tried multiple times to use my credit and skype would always respond with a message box saying that I needed to buy credit to call a landline - not acknowledging the credit I already have in my account - or had now that they took it away.  What I really wanted to do was simply use that credit towards renewing a subscription that allows me to call any cell or landline in the US.  I could not figure out how to do that and could not get in touch with a real person for assistance.  Now my credit is GONE despite the fact that I tried multiple times to use it.  Finally I just renewed an annual subscription and paid about 30.00.  My account shows that it is active, but AGAIN, every time I attempt to make a call, a message box appears telling me a need to purchase credit or a subscription to call a cell.  Does anyone know what is going on here?  This is really poor management when a company takes your money, won't allow you to use their service and then there is no way to get in touch with anyone who has answers.  Very frustrating.

Re: Have Subscription, but Skype won't let me make a call

Call your credit card company and let them know about the false transaction. Say that you paid for a service but never recieved it and your bank should give you any of the contact information to contact the merchant. If you contact the merchant give it 3 days maximum after that, if you have no response you need to have your bank do a reverse transfer and get the money back into your account. You can try opening a new skype account or find another way to make the calls you need. Skype is not the cheapest or best believe me. There are Voip and other services available and its not worth the frustration of losing your money

I have been having this happen too and I agree I got frustrated too. I don't know how to stop that specific thing happening but the way around it seems to be to add the number you want to call to your "Contacts" and make a call from there.

Re: Have Subscription, but Skype won't let me make a call

I had the same problem. Paid for Premium and everytime I tried to use it. it said I had no credit. This is infuriating. Worse is that you cannot reach anyone for help. So my money was totally wasted. Skype is not as wonderful as I thought.  It has in fact robbed me.
