sms failed

for a while now, i havent been able to send texts to a mobile in brazil anymore. the number is still active and works for voice calls from skype. it keeps saying sms failed.

whats the cause of this? how do i fix it?

Problems in sending texts seems to be a continuing problem with Skype, I wish they would sorted out and make it a high priority. They all seem to be more concerned about phone calls and the quality of calls and not texting

I have the same problem with sending an sms to Ivory Coast. The same number works great for voice mail while it doesn't for sms. It keeps saying "failed" , "check number"...
However, 2 months ago I could send an sms to the same country!
I think they should fix the problem soon!

Well it is comforting to a degree to know it is not just me having this issue. Until now I was of the opinion that Skype was an innovative, market leading reliable and trustworthy company. Well that all has now changed!!

Exact Same Thing Is happening to me

i only use skype txt to send to my bf in ecuador

now they all fail but i can call him

Im using a mac and an iphone

both fail straight Away With Plenty Of skype Credit

I would like to add that even with the same mobile phone provider MTS one can text MTS to Kharkov, but not text MTS to Poltava.  What's up with that?  Just fails after pending for 24 hours.

I think it is time to take Skype to Swedish consumer court. Free for me but seriously expensive for Skype!

Where is the former so great Skype hiding these days? Undet the Microsoft-comforter?

I have plenty Skype-credit on my account but my SMS's fail to be tranferred...some of my SMS's were transferred, but most of them fail...I think that this is a big problem using Skype! I am trying to send SMS's to Thailand...The phone-numbers are OK, I have Skype credit, but it still fails...

I can only confirm what many people already said here: Skype SMS sucks! I want to set up my caller ID in Skype and the only way to do this is to "verify" my cell phone number, which Skype does by sending a password by SMS. Guess what? This SMS never arrives. I tried many times. As a test, I sent an SMS to my number myself. Skype announced that it was delivered and deducted money from my account. This SMS never arrived either! So add Canada to the list of countries where Skype SMS does not work. And their customer support sucks too! The reply I got was "We are sorry to hear that you tried sending SMS but it failed. We would be more than willing to assist your concern.", followed by a regurgitation of generic instructions on how to use Skype. Apparently, they take us for idiots.
