skype camera not working on Samsung smart tv

I just got the camera and the tv and I have the same problem. Did you solve it since then?

Yes it is working now. What you have to do is make sure the people you are contacting have the latest version download of Skype. It turned out that the 2 people that I was calling with it did not have the latest version of skype and so it would not work. When they downloaded it onto there computers I was able to see them both and they could see me.

I also have the same camera and TV, but i have not been able to get it to work. All my contacts have the latest version of Skype. I deleted and reinstalled Skype on the TV. This is very frustrating...grrr

call the samsung tech support and ask for tier 2 support. tell them you need to have tier 2 or 3 support to walk you thru some further tests on the tv. don't settle for the first tech you talk to they don't know what to do

Hi Guys,

I also have problems with my camera. My camera when plugged in the USB socket, it does not even have the blue led light turned on all the time. I turned off the TV and restarted the TV, then the blue LED light would remain on until I tried a test call. The mic does not work. I can't get a video snapshot. The blude light would then go off. I have to turn off the Tv for a while and restart before the blue light comes on again. Regardless I can make calls but people can't hear or see me from the other end. I am not sure whether it's a hardware problem the camera. I will try to swap for a new one to try. I wonder if anyone has this problem.

You need the latest software for your Samung TV.

What kind of camera do you have? For the D-models (2011) you need the CY-STC1100 from Samsung. For the C-models you can use de CY-STC1100 aswell, but used to be the Skype Freetalk. The software you are refering to in your other topic, is the software for the 2010 C models. You need the 2011 software.

I life in The Netherlands and Samsung puts in the Skype software under favorites apps. I can not install it myself or delete it myself. So, we always have the right software.

samsung camera for skype for samsung tv does not turn on the blue light. tried different usb ports. disconnected the camera and tried to see if it would power up on my laptop. nothing - does not power on. tried upgrading software - i have latest version.

If the light does not go on it is not getting power. I would exchange it or you can call samsung support
