Since yesterday afternoon I have 2 successful logins. Can someone confirm?
Just spoken to Sony about this problem via telephone they have no immediate answer and have escalated this problem to their second stage and will call me back within 1 week - Great service Sony "1 week" if I hear back anything will add to the postings.
Do anyone at Skype have any ideas which are quicker?
Hi, just tried a few moments ago and still no luck! Internet browser and videos is working 100%, only skype is failling .
I'll be waiting for hearing from sony support.
Yep. Same problem here. Bought a KDL40HX720 two weeks ago (end Feb 2012). Even bought the expensive Sony webcam. The skype worked for a week and then around 9 March it would no longer allow me to log in.
Same here....Got a KDLHX723. Actually bought the camera on Friday (09/03/2012) and thought it was my tv / internet / camera until I read these issues. Rang Sony support just now, they were not aware of the issue and advised me to get the camera replaced. Bloody useless....If anyone gets any feedback, please post.
Guys it could be somehow location related.
Lets post our countries. Also we should refer this thread to Sony Support and Skype Support. The location could help to identify the problem also.
My location is Finland.
Have just managed to fix my problem this is what I did:
Logged on the internet via the Sony TV (which has always worked OK) and went on the Google site and typed in logging into your Skype account, then managed to log into my Skype account via the TV which shows all your Skype details then logged off.
Went to the Skype section on the TV and it let me log in and went through in seconds, seems to have cleared the problem my end, hope it does the same for you all good luck!
Remember you need the Sony webcam or you will not get on, which by the way seems the cheapest on Amazon at £62.99
