I have the same problem since 3 days. I have a Sony Bravia KDL-40EX721, firmware is the latest. I have reset the factory settings but no success.
I've bought my first ever TV, went straight for the top of the range Sony Bravia but can't log in to Skype!
Software version PKG3.904EUA-0104 (and it says there are no newer versions available for download)
Connected to internet via a cable
Internet in general works fine on TV, so does Facebook etc. Today my new Sony webcam thing arrived, I plugged it in and now it lets me into the Skype app (which it didn't before).
However every time I enter my Skype username and password it tells me it's logging in for ages (several minutes), then eventually flicks to a message that's only onscreen for half a second so I can't see what it says, then it exits the Skype app and sends me back to normal TV.
no problems with my Skype account - it works fine on the laptop, and I've tried resetting my password to be sure I have the right one. Definitely a problem with the TV software (or the Skype API), it'd be great to hear what I can do to resolve.
i have exactly the same problem as natstar - my 40-524 connects to the internet so that i can watch you tube etc perfectly but when my camera arrived and i plugged it in - internet is via a cable rather than dongle - it says that i'm logging in for ages, then flashes up with a message that is too quick to read then goes back to whatever channel it was previously on. i phoned sony support who told me to restore factory settings and check the updates but still nothing. i then tried to set up a new skype account which did the same thing but the message stayed up longer - it says "cannot connect to the internet. please check the internet connections and settings" - clearly it is connected to the internet as the you tube etc works - and the internet settings are fine- i checked. sony support are looking into this and will call me back within a week (?). since my skype works on every other device - ipad, iphone, laptop etc - i can only assume it is something to do with the configuration of the app for the bravia. will let you know if i get any joy from sony - however when i asked sony support if you can plug in a device with a keyboard they said that was not possible - oddly though, i have seen mention of this on some other threads so my confidence in their knowledge of their products isn't that high...

Have you resetted your router settings, and checked if router SW is up to date?
Do you get Internet connection otherwise from TV, ie. Bravia Internet Video clips shows OK?
If still doesn't work, please provide following information:
.TV's serial number,
.your DNS provider,
.up- and download speed,
.your router model name.
I might need to escalte this issue.

Same here with KDL-55HX920. In most cases Skype fails to log in. Problem started also few days ago. Sent also support request to Sony. Let's see!

i think that some is changed in skype side, now sony tv doesn't understand it anymore....
Having the same problems with Skype kamera. Just recently bought a sony tv. Type KDL-46EX525. Sykpe is not working. When I try to login it doesn't work and a quick message appears on the screen but you dont have time to read it. I tried to setup a new account through the TV and the message came that it was not possible due to no internet connection, This was not the case because I could log into facebook on the TV. Obviously a software problem between Sony and Skype. I updated the TV software but that did not help and sticking the USB plug in and out does not help.
I just bought the CMU-BR100 for my 26ex320 bravia and hppens the same thing like with JJ - try to start the session, try for some seconds and fail with a message impossible to read. Have someone found any solution?
