I remember it used to be possible to make a skype call from the app on my Sony mobile by the following:
1. Enter the phone number in the Skype app
2. App sends a short data message across the internet to correspond with server
3. App makes a "normal" mobile (voice) call over GSM to a skype telephone number
4. This call is routed via (presumably) Skype's VOIP network to the destination.
This worked ever-so-well, allowing me to successfully make skype calls even on the move. 3G coverage in the UK is still patchy and I wish I could find an app that still did this functionality so I could use my skype account when traveling.
Any ideas as to whether this is still available, please?
