Skype wifi

I am using a private home network to try and log on to skype wifi so I can chat skype to skype with a friend in the U.S. but it won't connect? Is this because I need to buy credits? skype to skype is supposed to be free.

Re: Skype wifi

You don't need Skype WiFi to use your own network.  Skype WiFi can be used to pay for hotspots that charge for use with credits you've bought from Skype.

Click on Tools > Options > Skype WiFi and uncheck Enable Skype WiFi.   Save the change and you should then be able to sign-in to Skype via your home wifi network  without being prompted for payment.
