Skype on Samsung - how to enter the UNDERSCORE character :-)

I have recently taken delivery of a Samsuns LCD (UE46D6530WKXXU). Seeing it had Skype as an option and owning a nice HD USB webcam I thought to give this a try.....but I cannot sign in !

My Skype ID contains 2 instances of the "_" character 

The screen input method for Skype on the SMART Portal uses the numeric keypad on the remote (like a mobile phone text entry). Behind the number "1" are a number of "special characters" but the "_" is not one of them !

This maybe the moment to change my Skype address for something with no "_" but before I do has anyone else had this issue and fixed it ?

the underscore character in most samsung handset reside in special character window, that usually accessed by holding down # button.
