I have purchased a Sony CX520 for elderly parent to enable simple Skype conversations, system works well when setup, but the CX520 repeatedly loses Skype password.
The password setting process is not user friendly - poor keyboard on remote –especially for an 85 year old.
Sony refer support to this site – has anybody experience in getting Password to remain set – when in standby mode or even through power off.

Password entry is so difficult it defeats the purpose of the automatic sign in.
Help!!

Same problem with Sony KDL-46EX729 (Bravia).
I configured skype to autostart with the TV. But when woken up from standby mode the TV shows a short warning about Skype, that's all ![]()
It's impossible for my parents to enter the password.
But even if I would use Skype with TV this would be unacceptable. Imagine you would have to enter the password every time you open the Skype App on iPhone and iPad and PC and Mac!

Hi
I am also facing same problem. I bought Sony Bravia TV only for skype purpose and after I configure everything I discovered that it doesn’t store password, when tv power is turned off and turned on.
Can this be fixed? Can skype retain password even after TV power switched off and switched on.
Thanks
Mohsin

Same problem here!
Sony Bravia KDL-37EX521.
When logged in, Skype works perfectly. Yet, with every TV-restart, the system loses the Skype password. Using a very simple password was unfortunately not possible due to the password complexity rules.
It would be really great, if Skype (or Sony) could fix this problem!
Or is there a possible work-around?
Thanks!

Hi all. Thought you might be interested in this.
I have recently purchase a KDL-46EX720 and it DOES remember the SKYPE password even when switched off.
I also had problems with it "forgetting" the password, but discovered this was because you cannot have the same account logged in twice. As soon as I logged out of my Ipad, the TV would automatically connect to skype without typing in the password.
So try logging out of your account from which ever system is currently logged in to Skype.
Obviously the best solution is to create a unique account for the TV.
Hope this helps and answers some questions.
Regards,
John

When signing in, if you make sure the 'auto sign when TV is switched on' option is turned to YES, then you will not have to enter the password each time the TV is powered on and you want to use Skype.
Best wishes
