SMS to same number charged at different rates

I sent 2 SMS texts to Thailand within a half hour - one was charged $0.06 and the second was charged $0.12. Why different prices?

Hi,

SMS messages are maximum 160 characters just like it is when sending from mobile phones. If you exceed this amount then it will be charged as multiple messages.

For example if you write 180 characters then you will be charged for 2 messages.
One messages to Thailand is 6.3 cents and two messages are 12.6 cents.
