Re: Receiving SMS Text messages

So wait. I just went to check out SMS on skype before buying some credits. It says nothing about not receiving texts, which is what I need it for, so I buy some credits. Now I find out when I try to send a text I can't receive the reply? You need to make that clear from the beginning.

Re: Receiving SMS Text messages

This type of monopolistic behavior reminds me how the major phone companies went backwards with their data plans after realizing they can screw people for more money in the area. This completely negates the caring/giving skype brand image I have always understood. I don't think its savvy to distort the brand image in this way, since the entire reason for skypes success since its start has been its caring/giving-related image.

Re: Receiving SMS Text messages

The difference with the mobile companies is that they all mutually agreed as competitors to do the same thing. Skype's largest competitor in this arena is google voice, where you can send free texts. Its only a matter of time before google puts the R$D into the same market.

****ALL MUST READ THIS********

*****ALL MUST READ THIS******

I to was curious in regards of how I was able to send and RECEIVE yes receive text messages on SKYPE.

I went home for emergency leave from Afghanistan to find out my cell phone with AT&T was $2,800.  Yes $2,800

DO NOT SET THIS UP THEY WILL CHARGE YOU FOR EVERY TEXT SENT AND RECEIVED.

I am in the process of taking both companies to court as my Cell phone was placed on temporary suspense as usual, however somehow setting this up allowed them to charge my cell phone company. This is not a joke do not do this.
