Just downloaded what I thought was free Skype onto my partner's laptop (we also have a desktop PC with the WiFi router set up etc.) which uses our home WiFi network for internet and email just fine. We tried calling a local landline Skype contact which I loaded and it came back with NO CREDIT! What do we do to access the free calling? I can use our home network for free Skype on my work laptop with no probs but not on this laptop? Is there a limit on how many per home network or something?
Hope you can point me in the right direction to solve.
Thanks in advance.

with Skype it is not free to call landlines, nor send text messages. Skype to Skype is free, i.e. Skype on another computer, or on another phone (but then you use data or WIFI for mobile).

Let me add to DF1's correct answer that Skype WiFi is a product which allows you to pay for hotspots that aren't free with credits you've bought from Skype.
It may be a little confusing, the Skype Wifi has nothing to do with using Skype over a free wifi connection, be it your own wifi network or a free hotspot.
