I have an Android phone bought from China using what seems to be ver 2.2 1

I downloaded and installed Skype on phone, but when i try to sign into my account

I get message that Skype has stopped working and giving me option once again to sign in or delete. If i try to sign in again the same is repeated. Any suggestions ?
