My Skype freezes within a few minutes of using it on Samsung smart tv.
I have the latest firmware, have reset the smarthub and reinstalled Skype.
It is a wired connection and the person I am skyping has put in the latest version of Skype.
When I use laptop ( wifi on same connection) all is well.Samsung are USELESS in helping with this problem.

My tv is a Samsung c7000.
I think this started happening after I upgraded the Skype tv widget.
I have discovered it is probably a problem with the person I am skyping not having enough bandwidth .
I have no trouble skyping her laptop to laptop and I can skype using to Smart tv to some other people on different internet providers.
In fairness to Samsung they came out to check and were willing to check the motherboard of the tv but it seems not a tv issue.
Any further luck on this? At first it worked fine on my samsung smart tv and samsung camera. Then it started a few months back, after a couple of minutes on skype everything freezes on my end. the other party can still see an hear me, I can hear fine, but both pictures are frozen. The only way to unfreeze is to end the call and start again, only to freeze up in a couple of minutes. Called samsung and they said I didn't have the latest firmware. So downloaded the firmware. It still happens, so I called samsung again last night and got fed up being on hold for so long.
No , it is still a problem but not with everyone I skype so it seems it may be a bandwidth imcompatibility?
Does that make sense?
I have given up and now just use my laptop....I bought the tv mainly for skyping so big waste of money!
I have the exact same issue. After two or three minutes, the picture of the person I am talking to freezes and he or she can still see mine.
I thought it's because I am having an older model (2011) but apparently the bug lies somewhere in the Skype app.
Isn't there going to be any update?? The last one have been a while ago and this is a major bug.
Same issue here! Just updated to the latest firmware on a 75" F8000 tv. and the problem is still there.
Dont know what to do or where to turn to next as this seems to be a common problem that isnt being addressed!!
Same problem here. Picture freezes after couple of minutes. Now, i am using this samsung tv as a display screen for the video conferencing. Very Very disappointing. I bought two TVs for the sole purpose of conferencing.

I have the exact same problem in Spain. My Samsung TV is a 46" f8000 model (2013) with the latest firmware. I have a 100Mbps wired network and Skype works fine in my PC. I have reinstalled the app and the problem is still there. When I'm skyping with my son (he's in UK with a 25Mbps connection) he can see and hear me fine, but my screen goes blank after a few minutes.
