I've had Skype Lite (or the Java thing, whatever it's called - doesn't allow calls - only chat) on my Samsung Wave 723 for more than half a year. Earlier this week it suddenly disconnected me and when I tried to log in again it showed this error "Failed to connect to Skype server." almost immediately after I started signing in. I tried resetting Skype's settings, my phone settings, I took out the battery and even resetted the WiFi. Then I tried to connect with a few other WiFis - still same error. My friend has the same version of Skype Lite on her mobile, and it works fine and without any errors.
Does anyone know how to fix this error? It's urgent, please.

Well, my sister told me she had the same problem on her xperia. She just stopped trying to log in for a few days - didn't open skype or connect her phone to WiFi and after a few days she tried to log in and it worked. Fixed all by itself, I guess. Let's hope that's the solution, no matter how simple it sounds. I should know if that's it by Monday morning.
