Too late... Fring just beat Skype to the punch...  its available NOW on iTunes    The Fring app allows four way video calling and chat and is optomized for the iPad2

Hi,

Just to advise that Skype on iPad2 is now available, and it is great!  I have used Skype on iPad2 many times this week ( since 1st July 2011 ) talking to, and seeing relatives.  Get onboard with your iPad2 today.

It's not released yet on iTunes in US or Canada yet.

I have a new iPad2 and MacBook.  I downloaded Skype for (supposedly) iPad today into iTunes on my MacBook and when I sync my iPad it doesn't appear.  What am I doing wrong?  Skype don't seem to be flaunting that it works on iPad but when I go to the iPhone download it says it is for iPad also.  Was that the wrong one?  HELP!  I'm getting ready to leave on a long vacation and want to just take iPad and use Skype to call home.:smileysad:

I am totally confused...is there an app for ipad2 or not? If so how do I locate it? And of not what app can o use with my ipad2 in order to Skype? I have downloaded Skype for iPhone and it doesn't seem to be working. I am totally mystified!

the app that works on ipad 2 IS the iphone app.... it does work on the ipad but obviously looks a bit crap because it was designed originally for the Iphone. i have used it successfully for a while but I'm getting a bit grumpy now... its too long now for Skype not to have developed a "dogs bollox" app for the Ipad 2.

I just joined Skype and I have an ipad2.  Do I need a microphone or headset to work it?  You don't need one for Face Time via Apple but I did a test call on Skype and can't hear anything.  What am I doing wrong?  Thanks.

I just tried using it today and have the same problem. I can be heard on the receiving end but I cannot hear any replies. Does anyone have an answer?
