Why no Text Chat and other shortcomings of Skype for vita

As I  read so far a lot of people, like myself, are unhappy to fing out that there is no text chat in Skype for PS Vita. So here're the things I'd like to see as soon as possible in my Vita-Skype.

1st and foremost: Text chat! While its somehow cooler to have only video and voice chat, text chat is still ESSENTIAL to have, as not everyone can rely on a good enough connection, everywhere, for calling. And for those who will counter this with Vita's built in text chat, well none of us has in psn friends all his/her neccesary contacts that we usually have on skype ( family, coleagues, etc.).

2nd Filtering contacts: more then just alphabetically.

3rd Adding contacts:  is a good thing to have ... 

I realize that I am probably repeating a lot of the previous posts, but I believe its neccessary to emphasize the most needed features.

Although I am overall very pleased with the app, I was expecting full Skype experience - with all the features that i am acustomed to use everyday.

I am looking forward an update to Vita-Skype.

I agree these features are very important and wish they would be available in a future update.

The only thing I would add to your list is the abilitiy to send SMS messages.

Like you said the text chat is essential but the ability to send SMS messages would have me picking up some skype credit with the quickness.

I am sure pretty much everyone else agrees with this and would make us all much happier campers.

Let's see this happen soon with an update!!!!

This app is off the chain. With the other essentials included, there would be nothing left to look forward to other than picking up skype credit! XD

I agree with you. The only other thing i am looking forward to ( on vita at least) is some more games

I agree, simply due to the fact that i am newly deaf and dont know sign language and use skype on my pc to talk to my family while I am away at college. Was hoping I could do so without running to my room but just using my vita, only to be dissapointed by lack of text in the call

You have other options, you can use the browser application and go to google.com/voice

Google Voice works similar to skype and offers free texting, they don't ask for money so thats a plus.

make an account and they give you your first number for free
(if you decide to change your google number they charge you)
you can text through this meanwhile the SMS feature is one day added.

Yeah, but in that case i dont need skype at all ... that's not the point.
