Too many contacts - out of memory [ Edited ]

That is false. I have just over 100 contacts, and it doesn't work. I also deleted some cause they were just phone numbers, so now I have less than 100 contacts. Still doesn't work. Basically, if you have 1-50 contacts it's ok, if you have more than that Skype might crash the app due to too many contacts. Simple fact is that Skype is broken and needs fixed by Microsoft and Sony.

Not really true, I only have about 25 contacts and the same error message appears.

I hope they fix it, such a dumb problem.

I have 2 contacts and still recieve the same error.  Skpye on Vita is currently a pain in the butt and doesn't work when using video.  I can only use skype on the Vita for voice calls.  Video last about 2 minutes and crashes the system or I get the error message about memory and it closes.  I was really excited about this app when I thought it would be a working app.  For now it's just unfortunately unusuable for video chat.

Hello! There, I have been receiving the same error message.

Initially, I had just over 200 contacts. So I managed to delete of people whom I don't chat often to 134 contacts + unblocking everyone (as to what the flipping moderator said). Thanks to him, lost my contact and it still didn't work. //Should be a moderator be allowed to give a false information, when he himself isn't aware of aware about it//

So I created another skype ID, and Had only one contact and Skype Test contact! Walla, it did successfully logged-in and as "jboyjeebs" referred the video lags and terrible audio service, the call drops. I'm greatly disappointed.

As per to "ahamkara222" remark, I don't quite understand if 1-50 contacts work. Adding another 100 would be just a few more kbs it definitely shouldn't crash. When it can handle gigs size of games. Like he said, Microsoft/Skype really needs to release a bug fix update ASAP...

And I'm sure, we all are greatly disappointed!!

Meanwhile, if any of you may have a solutions, please do post it on here.

Ok, basically here is the total truth. Doesn't matter how many contacts you have, or if you loaded only Skype, or if you restart fresh and load Skype, or anything at all. The bottom line, and read this well everyone...: SKYPE ON PS VITA IS "BROKEN!!!" That's right, Microsoft bought Skype, and to begin with, Skype never EVER updates it's Firmwares, it's servers, and has super non-existant customer support. SKYPE IS A HORRIBLE VOIP PROVIDER!!! Sony should have used ooVoo, or Tango, or one of the better companies out there. I have Skype on my PSP, PC, Vita, iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad, and all of them fail EXCEPT the PSP! Seriously! Why even bother adding Skype to a newer device if it's gonna get the same "once a decade updates" that all the past devices received? It's ludicrous and pathetic! Basically, just delete Skype from your Vita and save the space for games or saves from games, music, videos, etc. Skype in it's present state doesn't deserve to be on the Vita. Would you download a game and play it if at the title screen it locked up or reset and wouldn't let you play it? No, probably not. So save yourselves the greif and space on your memcard and pass on Skype. Use a PC, an IOS or Android device, video phone, Skype phone, etc. Better yet, use one of those other companies on PC, or any IOS/Android devices. Skype on PS Vita is "BROKEN". Period. That is all. If I could rate it on the Vita I'd give it a review saying to delete it. Also, I've been submiting poor reviews on my iPhone 4 for the Skype app, and they never accept them. Almost all the reviews there are 5 star reviews, short and no details. I smell something sinister there. Like company execs making multiple accounts to reveiw it and give it a higher rating. Skype has always sucked, and this is further proof. I hate to blow up and rant here, but it needed said. So now you know the truth. What you do with that knowledge is up to you. For me, now I'll have room for another Ragnarok Odyssey Character on my Vita. PEOPLE SAYING HAVING 150 CONTACTS IS OK ARE LIARS! The issue can happen with very few contacts also.

there's obviously something wrong with. the skype app. because i am encountering this problem too and i only have 2 contacts

PLEASE, I know that this is off-topic, but no one else in the skype communtiy (that works for skype) is taking any notice to this. There is a HUGE following of skype users with Vita's that are DEMANDING IM and text chat on the device. It's what I got the app for, and since I can't do it, it has become literally useless to me. I will never use the app if there is no IM, and will have to resort to waiting for a time when I can use my computer.
