Hi,
So there's a new forum: great!! However, the questions don't go away by changing forum...
So, let me be the first to revive this topic: What about Skype on Blackberry?
Since 2008-2009, a lot of people are still waiting on an "official" statement regarding this...
Check this "old" forum: http://forum.skype.com/index.php?showtopic=213701&
To avoid any misunderstanding: we are talking about the BB users NOT in the US (so not Verizon) who want to use one of the most sold business smartphones via Wifi, 3G, ... with Skype (only text if no other possibility)...

As the original post said this is getting ridiculous.
There have been zero statements from Skype since that old press release.
If Skype don't intend to make a worldwide version available then just say so please. At least we then start looking at the alternatives.
Skype would be preferable of course ![]()

And I've just read about a new skype release for Android. Great, that makes me feel even more sorry for having chosen my Torch over a Nexus S...
**bleep**, I'm gonna dump this device as soon as I can, thanks to RIM for all their support on this also.

I agree! I do not know why Verizon would be the choice for Skype alone on blackberry's. Their customer service is HORRIBLE to say the least and their billing is even worse. Please, we need Skype available for ALL! If Skype isn't going to work with all companies that carry Blackberry (all versions) I hope they do come out with an alternative. That will be my choice, because there are no other options!

Yes, the question has been around a while.
I am an intensive user of Skype so some time, using for business & social.
I'm based in Australia & use at home and when traveling on business to Asia & USA.
When I brought the Blackberry I was hoping that skype was supported, silly me.
If this isn't corrected soon, the Blackberry will be sold.
They lose (blackberry) not mine, this is hurting my business.

Just a thought, why doesnt everybody join the facebook group, skype for blackberry.
If we get a few thousand people behind this we might get an answer to this age old question???
