The nightmare thar is Nokia/Skype continues. Unable to run Skype on C5-03 with v 22.0.007

I bought a 5230. SKYPE doesn't work with it. So I bought a c5-03. SKYPE didn't work with that. So far I am 270 EUR down and the only people happy are Nokia.

Now I learn that C5-03 can finally support SKYPE.

SO I use OVI to bring my C5-03 up to date. It runs v 22.0.007. Yippee, off I go. I download SKYPE and start the install. It tells me that Skype_S60_3_0_v_1_5_0_12.sisx is not campatible with my phone. I try another version (0.9.) and that is incompatible. I releload the first onee and ignore the warning. It installs. I try to sign in. It just sits there on the signing in progress page looking busy, and looks at me. Then it gives up and returns to the sign in page.

Is there an operating system version/SKYPE version combination that will install properly? I see messages here on this site from people who have installed it and presumably are running it with minor issues.

I would LOVE to be in their position. How?

It hasn't been tested, but Skype 2.0 for Symbian (*not* the newer 2.1) should work on the C5-03: http://www.skype.com/go/getskype-symbian-s60-5

Got S60_5 v 2006 with this download. Installing with N. Suite gives me error 2148532262. (In hex: 80100025). So it didn't work for me.

Not with my USA C5-03 v 21.1.003 which N Suite says is the latest. I have tried with several older Skype versions, but got the same error 2148532262 from N Suite. Any tips for the install?

Using Nokia Suite - Search for Skype on Ovi Store. Install the one found here. It worked on my E5.

Glad it works for you on an E5, but Skype is not in the Ovi store for the C5-03.

Has anyone ever seen Skype working on a (American) C5-03 (WIFI needed only)?

If so, please let us know the version numbers of both Skype and the phone firmware.
