Yes it is working for me now as well on my N8. But I cannot get Skype to work in the back ground and remain ready to receive calls. I either can have skype working and not get out of the screen to use another function or sign out of Skype so I can use my other functions. Anyone else having this issue??

It is true, running Belle, Skype only works with default Evolve theme. I found this out by changing to differenth themes, and each time Skype would crash. Going to default theme and restarting the N8 solved that problem.
However, lack of Skype support makes me think it is time to abandon Skype in favor of Nimbuzz which does support Belle.Re: Skype on Belle (Nokia N8)

I got the similar problem. After I updated my N8-00 to Bell, Skype stopped working. It crashes when tried to sign in. I don't know the Skype version but I installed it from OVI store.
I tried www.skype.com/m but it says Skype isn't available for your device. But Skype IS available from the OVI store. It seems Skype doesn't care Nokia's Symbian phones anymore. And Nokia is moving away from Symbian too. It's screwy.
Some people reported it works (occasionally?). I really hope Skype will come up with a solution soon.

It's the same everywhere. As a telekom company(cable TV, mobile etc) is having more then x contracted customers, they are not interested in their "issues" anymore.
If you are not satisfied with their services you can leave, who cares, anyway there are other x thousants contracted customers.

Hi guys,
I have just created an online petition for pressuring Skype thus Microsoft and also Nokia to not give up on properly supporting symbian phones and in the first place providing symbian users with a video call support on Skype for Symbian phones:
