it would defininly be cool if they could put skype on 3ds the system is fully capable of doing video chat and more people would use skype so its a good idea
I also have a Nintendo 3Ds and I think this would be a cool application to add to the device. it already accesses the internet through a wi-fi connection. Adding Skype to the Nintendo 3Ds would only improve it, I think.
