I have the Netgear SPH101 and there is no support from Skype. Mine stopped working when I installed a new, uptodate router. The SPH101 does not have the encrytion capability to make contact with the router. I think a sw update would do the trick. I'll look at Netgear, see what they say ! !
I must say that i have just had a look to skype forum about this matter and it seems that many of us have passed by the same painful moments.
I have a TOPCOM WEBTALKER that have worked very well since 2007 until February of this year, I have lost so much time and patience with Support Team for NOTHING.
They have tried to tell me that it was a device issue several time but i see NOW that thousands an thousands of people wordwide that bought 1st generation phones are facing the same problems.In a post from March of 2012, it is said that this kind of issue
would be resolved closely wich is NOT TRUE , imho.
Im my situation, i have just "discovered" the big dimension of this problem so there are probably so many people that are not "teckies" or "geeks" that may have just abandoned because nobody listen to them and bought may be another device.
I think it is not FAIR to sell something that cost that money BECAUSE it can handle BOTH landline and skype calls and now its main function has gone. If i wanted to have just a landline phone, it might have cost much less. My device is not damaged, it is not broken, it has some years of use but it works well, so why should i send it to the garbage ???
I kindly ask Skype Tecnical Team : PLEASE help me as i am very annoyed with this issue.
