I totally agree with what user temperok, I don't understand why didn't anyone at least upvote his post:

Here's my take on what's happenning with Skype App. I belive that MS and Skype don't whant to provide a half-ass solution by creating a stand-alone app. They want to create a seamlless integration the same way twitter and facebook are integrated. However twitter and facebook are integrated via Windows Live account. And that's where they probably hitting a wall, as thay would haveto integrate skype not only with WP7 but with windows live messanger and hotmail. So let's be patient.
Thou i would be happy with half-ass standalone skype app for now...
(again that's just my thoughts)

So Skype just open your APIs!!! let 3rd party developers pickup the slack untill you develop the proper solution.

The only thing I would add to it - Microsoft, please, talk to your customers! Everyone would be much more calm and happy, if they knew, when Skype or any other awaited feature is coming. Yes, some people like surprises, but this is a business, not a present for the NY. The only case, when you wouldn't want to publish ETA - if you didn't know it in the first place. But, I hope, it's not like that, otherwise - why would you even care, that your OS has such small market-share?

Re: Skype App for Windows Phone 7 Mango

I'm sure that Skype will be available before 2017. Maybe it's waiting for full multitasking. It sure would be awful to stick WP users with the same crap that millions of people use every week; what could possibly be worse than having people use your products?
